Inviting him, in Wagner's name, to the first performance of Tristan on 15 May, saying that she and Wagner have read his article on Tristan and ask that it not be published until after the première--it is better not to explain the work beforehand, but to let it make its own effect--, that it will seem that Wagner is allowing himself to be praised in advance and is telling the people what to think about his work, etc.
